The Lexington Board of Education met in regular session in the Eastern Elementary Music room on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.  Mr. Robert Whitney, President, called the meeting to order.  Roll was called by the Treasurer.

VISITORS  /  COMMUNICATIONS  /  RECOGNITIONS

Mr. Whitney welcomed visitors to the meeting and asked if any visitors would like to be recognized. Mr. Whitney also made available various publications and mailings.

Communications

Mr. Secrist shared with the Board the receipt of a thank you letter from NAMI for a donation of $1,000 raised by the High School Student Council through funds raised from this year’s Powder Puff Game.

Recognition of State Championship Swim Relay Team

Athletic Director Jeff Eichorn and Athletic Booster President Jim Hardman honored the State Championship boys 200 medley relay team of Tanner H., Luke S., Jacob H., and Ivan R.  This is the 2nd consecutive year that the boys’ 200 medley relay team has won the State Championship.

Coach Brock Spurling shared with the Board the excitement of the 2nd consecutive State Championship for the relay team and the legacy left by the three graduating seniors.  Coach Pat Cannon provided the Board with a play-by-play of the event for each leg of the race and noted the atmosphere was the best of high school sports.

Introduction of 2022-2023 Student Representative

High School Principal, Jamie Masi introduced Chloe Dean as the new Student Representative. Mr. Masi described Chloe’s involvement in various school activities and the respect she has gained from other students and teachers. The Board welcomed Chloe as the next Student Representative.

Lindsay Musille - Eastern, 5th grade, effective September 1, 2022, one-year contract

Resignation:  Accepted Joan Falvey’s resignation as Transportation bus aide, effective June 30, 2022.

Employment:  Approved Joan Falvey as a Transportation two-hour van driver, two-year contract.

Van Driver: Approved Brock Kehres, assistant boys’ golf coach as a van driver upon completion of his van certification.

LSA Contract: Approved to ratify the tentative agreement for LSA for the period September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2025.

WMFD: Approved the livestreaming contrct with WMFD to live-stream our sporting events for the 2022-2023 school year.

Athletic Handbook: Approved the Athletic handbook for the 2022-2023 school year.

SPARC Contract: Approved the contract with SPARC to provide a career coach for the school district for FY23; District share of $900, which is less than past SPARC contracts due to available subsidies.

Auction Contract: Approved the auction contract with The Ruckman Group to conduct an online auction for the District.
