The Lexington Board of Education met in regular session in the boardroom at 7:11 p.m.
on Monday, April 25, 2011. Mr. Robert Whitney, President, called the meeting to order.
Roll was called by the Treasurer.

VISITORS / COMMUNICATIONS / RECOGNITIONS
Abby Kuhn, Student representative to the Board presented her report.
District parent, Mrs. Kathy Salimbene asked that the district make sure that the Board of Education meeting dates are kept current on the district’s website. She stated that she was unaware of the changed date for the April meeting because it wasn’t listed on the website. Mrs. Salimbene also questioned why there were no community members and/or parents included on the committee to select the new Junior High Principal. Mr. Ziegelhofer noted that there was a rather large group of individuals involved in the interview, representing various departments from the Junior High as well as a member of the Board of Education. Further, he stated that Lexington has not typically included community members in interviews or hiring decisions in the past.

Accepted the decision of the Ohio Department of Education to transfer the territory of Springbrook and Rosedale Drives from the Mansfield City Schools to the Lexington Local Schools.
Approved the contract with MedCentral Sports Medicine for Athletic Trainer for the 2011- 2012 school year.
Approved payment for “In Lieu of Transportation” for Lexington students attending FoundationAcademy and Mt. Vernon Academy for the second half of the 2010-2011 school year.
Approved to change the date of the June 2011 Board Meeting to Monday, June 20th.
