Special Meeting
October 11, 2014
8:00 A.M.    

 The Lexington Board of Education met in Special session in the boardroom at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Mr. Robert Whitney, President, called the meeting to order. Roll was called by the Treasurer.   

Roll Call – Members present: Mr. Loren Blackstone, Mr. Keith Stoner, Mrs. Sue Weirich, Mr. Robert Whitney --4

                Participated via phone: Mr. Jeff Heck  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------1       

 Mr. Whitney welcomed visitors to the meeting and made available one publication and various monthly magazines. Mr. Whitney also shared the 2014-2015 staff directory.     


66-14   Motion by Mr. Stoner, seconded by Mrs. Weirich to enter into executive session for the employment or compensation of a public employee and negotiations. Attorney Bill Pepple and High School Principal Jeremy Secrist were invited and joined teh Board, Superintendent and Treasurer in executive session.  

             Roll Call – Yea: Mr. Stoner, Mrs. Weirich, Mr. Blackstone, Mr. Whitney------------4

                            Motion adopted.

                            Time entered: 8:05 a.m.

                            Returned to regular session: 10:50 a.m


Mr. Whitney discussed the tree work completed at Western Elementary and the fact that the results look very good.

The Board also discussed the scheduled dedication of the Western Elementary playground equipment scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on October 31, 2014.

The Board discussed the plaque to be displayed in the high school for those former Lexington Schools students who have lost their lives serving in the armed forces. Mr. Secrist shared he expects the plaque to be ready for display prior to the first basketball game.
